Hi, Mary:

We will keep Christopher on the prayer list. Hope he gets better soon.

Paula and I met with Dr. Kevin Beyrns, surgical oncologist who specializes
in the pancreas, yesterday at Shands. We just learned that I have a cyst
inside my pancreas that has a CEA cancer marker score of 3,000. Dr. Beyrns
said that a score of 192 or above was 80% reliable as an indicator of cancer
being present, but we couldn't know for certain unless the cyst is removed
surgically. He explained that it was a very intensive, serious operation,
similar to open-heart surgery, involving the day of surgery, 2 to 3 days in
intensive care, followed by 7-10 days hospitalization and a two month
recuperation period. The alternative was to have a CAT-scan every 3 months
for the rest of my life hoping nothing more showed up. I immediately asked,
"How soon can we schedule the operation?" The answer is March 2.

I'll be in the best hospital in the world on the campus of my alma mater
with all my clothes matching the color scheme perfectly. Getting this early
start, I should be able to attend the second half of Gator baseball season
and be fully recovered in time for football season. We're going for a cure
here.

In all kinds of weather.

A good sense of humor helps also. The other day I was asked if I was a
closet gator. I had to laugh. I would not consider anyone a with a georgia
UF license plate a closet Gator.

Leon, how are you feeling? Hope all is well. Christopher my oldest son was
in Gainesville last week. We are trying to find the course of his internal
bleeding. We assume it is from the colostomy reversal he had in June. This
has been going on since November. He is so weak he's only been able to work
15 hours a week the last few months.

Wanda,

Some of us can't keep a low profile. I don't go around bragging, but
because I am decorated in Gators attire, my office is decorated with Gators
stuff, and my car is decorated with Gators stuff - I catch it all from the
Vols fans. I try to laugh it off most of hte time, knowing that I am
outnumbered, but some times one just has to dish it back. You know what I
mean?

Take care,

Shane

Like you, Randy, I keep a low profile as our Gators beat the crap outta the
Vawls. But Kiffin is on my List now and I'm not quiet anymore.

Like I said, I am SOOOO ready for September. I never "rub it in" around here
when we beat the vols, but he is bringing out the "Evil Randy". ;-)

Lots of stupid here. First, Kiffin got players from us and Ala who were
second choice players that gave up after the first choice player signed.
Second, Kiffin's class isn't even a top 10 class. Third, Tennessee couldn't
even beat Wyoming this year, is he sure he wants to take on the last 3
national champs? Fourth, and maybe most important, Kiffin was fired by Al
Davis for his constant public criticism of their program. I hesitate to
mention Kiffin was 5-15 while coaching those Mighty Raiders! :-)

I just figured it out.

Those idiotic remarks were a calculated attempt to make Kiffin seem
incredibly stupid. Kiffin wants Meyer and our coaching staff to
underestimate him and his assistants going into our game against them. They
want us to take them lightly so we are unprepared for the game.

It has to be that. No one could actually be that stupid, right?

That Kiffin is a diabolical genius. We better watch out. There is a new
kid in town, and he's gunning for us.

Go Gators!!!!
