Here is another thought. I posted on GatorCountry this evening. Does anyone know the answer?
Given that at least some of the players did not complete the required number of credits, will the NCAA go back and recalculate the academic progress score. If they now fall short, will they take additional scholarships? Their 2008 score was 954. The minimum required is 925. Since their score is a five-year average, a recalculated score might be considerably lower. If they do not recalculate the 2008 score, will the recalculate the previous years based upon the new student data after their "vacated" course when the calculate the APR for 2010? Again, would they be subject to additional scholarship penalties? (For reference, Temple had an 864 score and lost 9 scholarships.) Could the reason the NCAA appeared soft on the scholarships now was because they knew that they would lose additional scholarships because of a reduced APR? Soft-hearted? It could be an occupational hazard for a pastor.
