The winning run was scored when senior Patrick Keating struck out freshman Jarrod McKinney and the ball bounced off the dirt, hit the batter and rolled away, allowing senior Ben Tschepikow to come in from third base. Despite the apparent interference, which resulted in the ejection of UF head coach Kevin O'Sullivan, the Hogs went ahead on the play and later tacked on an insurance run. Arkansas also took advantage of a season-high six Florida errors and used 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief from freshman Zack Cox (2-0) before junior Stephen Richards recorded the final two outs to collect his second save. The Razorbacks scored first against freshman Nick Maronde with an RBI single by senior Scott Lyons in the first inning. Redshirt freshman Collin Kuhn had led off with a triple into left field and Lyons singled through the right side. Maronde had Tschepikow ground into a double play and sophomore Travis Sample grounded out to end the inning. Florida had runners on the corners with one down in the second against redshirt freshman Drew Smyly but couldn't capitalize. Junior Matt den Dekker ran out a bunt to start the inning and moved into scoring position on a grounder by senior Brandon McArthur. After an infield hit by sophomore Riley Cooper, den Dekker moved to third on a wild pitch. Smyly struck out junior Clayton Pisani and Cooper was thrown out attempting to steal second. The Gators return to home on Tuesday to face Florida State at 6:30 p.m. at McKethan Stadium. This will be the first of three meetings between the state rivals during the regular season. UF heads to Orlando for a matchup at UCF on Wednesday and then hosts rival Tennessee next weekend. The Gators (27-2, 8-0 SEC) shut down Ole Miss (11-12, 0-6 SEC) in the three-game weekend series, outscoring the Rebels, 18-0. Nelson (14-2) recorded seven strikeouts while allowing one walk and hitting one batter over seven innings. With the win, Nelson improved her career record to 109-33, tying for 25th on the NCAA all-time wins list with Jennie Finch (Arizona, 2000-03). Sophomore Aja Pacubla (Wildomar, Calif.) led the way for the Gatorsoffensively, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Florida returns to action on Wednesday, hosting FIU in a doubleheader slated to begin at 4 p.m. The Gators hold a 4-2 all-time advantage over the Golden Panthers and are currently riding a 14-game home winning streak. Men's Golf: At Las Vegas, the Florida men's golf team shot a one-over par 289 on to move up one spot on the leaderboard and finish fourth at the 2009 Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship. "It was another solid day today," said head coach Buddy Alexander. "We had a lot of guys around par and were able to pick up a little ground. This was a pretty decent event for us. I felt like we played better than we did in Puerto Rico so we're making progress." The Gators had a three-day total of 872 (+8) and were led by senior Billy Horschel, who finished in a tie for sixth. Horschel played all three rounds at or under par, carding a 71 (-1) in the third round. He finished with a 54-hole total of 214 (-2). After posting his first score under par for the tournament, junior Tim McKenney moved up to earn a share of 12th place at two-over par 218. McKenney birdied the 18th hole for a final-round 71 (-1). Host UNLV shot six-under par 282 to move past Oklahoma State and take the team title with a three-round total of 855 (-9). Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale finished at 11-under par 205 to earn the individual medal. The Gators will travel to Statesboro, Ga. next weekend for the Chris Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern. The three-day event will begin on Friday and conclude Sunday. Swimming and diving: Following the three-day Zone B Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., at the Allan Jones Aquatics Center, two Gators (junior Kara Salamone and sophomore Monica Dodson) qualified for the 2009 Women's NCAA Championship meet, which is set to begin March 19 in College Station, Texas. In men's diving action, no Gators solidified NCAA qualification, but several returned tothe finals at the Zone Diving showdown in Knoxville. Freshman Colin Bell represented UF in the platform finale Sunday with a 17th-place finish (483.65), while Bell's freshman colleague Anthony Lewark placed 12th with a score of 591.65 on the one-meter springboard. Men's Tennis: The No. 8 Gators (11-5) concluded a conference road trip with a 6-1 loss to No. 6 Tennessee (9-3). Florida falls to 2-2 in SEC play, while the Volunteers move to 4-2. Women's tennis: The 23rd-ranked Gators earned their second upset victory in 72 hours, downing No. 15 Tennessee at Ring Tennis Complex.
