Now that the discussion about Billy's departure has subsided, I have a question about next year.
As most of you know, if everyone returns, we would have 14 scholarship players-an NCAA no-no. If I were in Billy's position, I would be terrified about the possibility of having to pull someone's scholarship. He doesn't seem concerned. In fact, he even talked about recruiting another point guard for this year if Nick decides to go pro. Obviously, he does not want to be put in the same position as when Mike Miller left early. Now for my question. What is he up to? Here are some random thoughts. What are yours? 1. Billy already knows that someone is not coming back because: a. Someone is not making the grades? (Chaney?) b. Someone is unhappy 2. He plans to pull one of his scholarship offers for next year. If so, which one? 3. One of the incoming freshmen has offered to pay his own way to make room for someone else. I tend to think it is #1 since he was actually talking about going out and getting a Nick replacement. Any thoughts?
