This isn't about the Meyer-Matthews "feud".

Today is the deadline day nationwide for this fall's incoming freshman to let
the schools know of their decision as to where they'll attend.

It came down to the wire in our house, but I just got a text from my son Shane
letting me know that he will be sending in the deposit that confirms and holds
his place in the class, to the University of Florida!

As some of you know, I am not a UF grad - one of my biggest regrets in life is
not taking school seriously AT ALL when I was in high school, and by the time I
figured it all out, I was unable to realize my ambition to attend and graduate
from UF. I've always hoped that my boys would want that for themselves and
would be able to accomplish it.

I've tried real hard to not force him to live out my dream, so I'm particularly
excited that he came to this decision himself. I'm awfully proud of him, and
can't really put into words how great/overwhelmed/emotional I feel about this
right now.

I guess I need to buy one of those "My kid and my money go to UF" bumper
stickers now!

GO GATORS!
