Last year the defense gave up (on average) 12.9 points per game * 14 games = 181 points (versus 611 points scored by the good guys).
We get everyone back this year - two deep on defense - so the defense should be much better.
I think the goal for the defense this year will be to hold teams to 10 points or less - times 14 games = 140 points. Since there is the "less than 10 points per game" they figured 130 points would be a good number to pick.
But I will go with 140 points. That is about a 30% improvement over an already great defense last year - and everyone will be bringing their best game for us this year as not only the repeating national champs - but the favorites to win it again.
We also should do a prediction of the Tenn score.

There was a thread on GatorCountry asking if people thought our defense would hold our opponents to under 130 points against us for the regular season. I would like to have a Gatornet contest this year predicting the points against us for the season. The winner is the one closest to the correct number.
I will start. I predict 100. (The 2006 and 2008 teams allowed in the 180s.)
Jerry
p.s. We need some way of keeping track of the entries.
