Simply a diversionary tactic. Like calling the kettle black. Happy Birthday,
Leon. Thanks for meeting with me in clown town. I’ve been hitting up the free
dinner and beer ever since!

As partial atonement I sent the following email to Pat Dooley this
morning.

        Pat, Pat, Pat:

Consider this a grammatical love tap. ...Taking a deep breath...

You are one of my favorite sports writers. ...Another one...

But you tried to screw up my brain this morning when I read this
attempt at a sentence: 'Now Louisiana at Lafayette, the Ragin Cajuns came to
town with a quarterback named Jake Delhomme and a receiver named Brandon
Stokley, both who are still playing in the NFL.'

        'Both who?'

There are two ways to fix this brain-twister. '...both of whom' would
work, but is a bit formal and not your conversational style. I would have
edited it into: 'both are still playing in the NFL.'

Thanks for putting up with my therapy session.

        :)'

There are worser things than typos.

You are all on notice. I am planning and sceming to kick butt this
year in Pick 'em. I have brought in support staff. 'Nuff said.'
