First, the spread.not the spread offense, but the point spread. I should have known that Urban Meyer would not have covered the spread against Charleston Southern. He is too much of a gentleman to embarrass them like that. If this would have been Georgia, Tennessee, or Florida State, probably, Alabama, maybe, but an under-matched foe like this. He just could not pull the wings off of the fly, he couldn't pour lighter fluid on the corn weevil and light it, he couldn't leave the starters in for more than a quarter and a half. So much for Pick'em this week!
There is hope for our younger guys on the grammar front. Urban Meyer "misspoke" when he said the following: "Riley played like he practiced,'' UF coach Urban Meyer said. ``He's playing as good as he has ever played." Tim did much better: "The team played well, everyone played hard and we executed pretty well,'' Tebow said. So did Brandon James: "We didn't execute well but we'll make up for it next week,'' James said. I am cooking today and tomorrow. I am having grilled sea bass and grilled wild salmon (from my fishing trip to Alaska) both grilled on cedar planks with onions and sliced lemons and limes. My wife insists that we should serve tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I have acquiesced and I will try not to cry if anyone actually uses them. Also, I just realized that today is September 6.
