ditto!!!! I don't care about domination. 1 freak play and it's a new ballgame.
Save the exciting, close games, for teams other than the gators.
I'm getting too old for this $h1t.

But I don't think that LSU is on par with Alabama (SECCG) and whoever we play
in the national championship.

I think that LSU is probably a top 25 team - and we could probably beat most
top 25 teams like we did against LSU. It is USC, Alabama, Texas - our last
two games - that I doubt we could beat with a conservative offense.

If you have all these weapons, if you need all these weapons, - why would you
not practice using all these weapons in a game? If you are using these weapons
- it gives opposing defenses fits - since they have no clue where you will
strike next and how. Second - to run plays well in practice is one thing. To
run plays well in a game is another thing. Running a play in a big game which
you have experience runing in previous games is a third thing.

Maybe this is my problem. After the FSU game many years ago - when we were
leading by 28 points going into the 4th quarter - I am not even comfortable
with a 28 point lead. We saw in the LSU - Georgia game how many points these
two teams can put up in an instance.

Yes our defense is awesome and probably #1. But still all it takes is one
lucky play for 7 points. At the end of the LSU - Georgia game - we saw a lot
of lucky plays for a lot of points.

I am not comfortable allowing a team to hang around.

Absolutely, without a doubt. I saw it done as recently as 2006, & 2007.
I
am a firm believer in defense wins championships. Between now and Jan
7th
the only thing that matters is to survive and advance, win anyway you
can.
When ranked #1, margin of victory is virtually irrelevant. Staying
undefeated is the key. With our defense, I don't believe there is a game
between now and then that we couldn't win by simply relying on our
offensive
line and running backs. Take last Saturday night, we absolutely
dominated
LSU in every way but the scoreboard. LSU stacked the box, knowing what
was
coming, yet Florida imposed their will upon LSU. Finesse team, my a$%,
on
Saturday we played smash mouth football as well as anybody ever has.
Furthermore, despite all the rhetoric, just because we haven't
demonstrated
a vertical passing game, doesn't mean we don't have one, it just means
we
haven't had to show it. To paraphrase Quigley, I said I didn't have much
use for a passing game, I didn't say I didn't know how to use the
passing
game. With this defense, arguably one of the best the Gators have ever
produced, the offense can be very conservative and win.

Mark me down as impatient. :-)

Question: Do you think that we can win out, win the SECCG, and win the
National Championship with the way our offense is playing so
conservative?

        Yes, I am still alive.
Unlike some coaches we know. I knew when it was time to retire.
Been lurking and listening. With McKibben on here it just doesn't make
sense to repeat what he posts.
It is uncanny how much he and I think alike when it comes to Gator
football.
Probably why I had him fill-in for me over the years.
Anyway, I am doing fine, thanks for asking. Gators are doing fine. The
Gator faithful seem to be doing fine, although some seem a little
impatient.
