You should blog this somewhere. EVERYWHERE! Although, I have no plans to return to my college days, I totally agree with your theory. Some would say I never left my college days, but that's only because they didn't know me then. Those who knew me back then, REALLY can see a difference in me now. I have definitely "grown up", and IMHO, being "uptight" comes with the territory. After raising two kids, multiple career changes (some planned, some not), worrying about the economy and seeing retirement racing toward me in less than 10 years, what else is there?
I would LOVE to be able to relax when we're playing, but now I'm paying attention to the game and not wondering if my rum-n-coke will be empty if/when I finally get it back after being passed around in the stands. Or getting a whiff of weed from several rows away and wondering if it will be passed in my direction. Now, I notice things like dropped passes, fumbles, missed field goals, fouls, etc. Back then, after a healthy consumption of rum-n-coke, I was more concerned with the line at the restroom. Just being at the game was enough. It was a party. So, Dr. Keith. How does a non-drinker (and obviously non-drug user) relax these days? Everything was cool. That was back when we had a beer hall in the center of campus - the Orange and Brew. Everybody was having a good time. Now that we have stopped doing what got us here - we're complaining about an undefeated team ranked #1 in the nation. University and city officals want less drinking, no parking in yards, etc. Everyone is too uptight. We all need to go back to what got us here and mellow out Think I'll call in sick at work and wait for the liquor store to open. Shots of Wild Turkey for everyone!
