Bert, I had surgery for a tearing (on it's way to being detached) retina in 2002. I'm sorry you had to drive so far to get the surgery, but am glad that the Little Rock surgeon stayed home. I have a few "pixels" that my eye does not see anymore. From my usual seat it is part of the score box on the upper right of the tv screen. It is really weird what my brain does to fill in the space, like repeating the column it does see. Good Luck! -JNene

Last Monday I had to have emergency surgery to repair a detached retina in my right eye. I live in the Fayetteville area, and wouldn't you know it, the only two physicians in the area who could repair it were in California for a conference. So, I had to drive to Little Rock (3 hours) that same day to see another physician who decided he didn't want to go to California, and have surgery the same day. Doing much better now...
