I was really hoping Gillislee would go all the way to make it 48, but I'm not a
greedy Gator and was quite content with the outcome! ;-) Thanks to the Gators
for again for making another birthday weekend special.

LOL. I said something very similar, Randy. I wondered how many of us were
thinking about Darlene's 50 at that point. ;-)

Yep! I told my wife that we still had time to give Darlene her 50 if Meyer
would turn Brantley loose! I wanted a TD, on side kick and a field goal to make
it 51!

      Me too.

What's up with Robin Fisher? Is he getting soft? I will always despise
Georgia, and want to destroy them. Too many evil memories. Too many no-class,
sub-human Georgia fans getting personal.

Imagine half a stadium of people looking and smelling like they came out
of "Deliverance," and every last one coming right up to your face and saying
"Hey, man. Gators suck."

Pronouncing the rivalry dead? Ol' Mikey ought to put down the free food,
get out of the comfortable press box, and hang out among the faithful.

It will never be dead to me, no matter how many times nor how badly we
beat them. Hell, yesterday, I was screaming for Meyer to let Brantley throw the
ball downfield. Georgia deserves it.

      Go Gators!!!!

        SPORTS COMMENTARY

        November 1, 2009

        --------------------------snip, snip, snip----------------------------

Florida's disregard for everything that Georgia once stood for was
summed up in a hotel lobby in Jacksonville Friday night. That's when Robin
Fisher, a former UF defensive tackle who played in the famous Lindsay Scott
loss to Georgia in 1980, shook his head and said, "You know, I don't even hate
Georgia anymore."

How can you hate a program you've beaten 17 of the last 20 times? How
can you hate a team you've beaten 90-27 the last two seasons?

On his eye black Saturday, Tebow wore Philippians 4:6-7, a Bible verse
that begins, "Do not be anxious about anything."

Modern translation: "Nothing to worry about, fellas, it's only Georgia."

The Bulldogs are such easy marks, the Gators didn't even need the SEC
refs to help them win Saturday. When in doubt — play Georgia. The Bulldogs cure
everything that ails the Gators.

UF kicker Caleb Sturgis almost got benched after missing a chip-shot
field goal and an extra point last week. Against Georgia, he kicked a 56-yarder
— the second-longest field goal in school history.

And all those red-zone offensive woes of the last two weeks? The Gators
solved them against Georgia by scoring three touchdowns from outside the red
zone.

The Gators have beaten the 'Dogs every way and everywhere imaginable
over the last two decades. They've beaten them in Jacksonville. They've beaten
them in Gainesville. They've beaten them in Athens.

After a Florida victory in the '99 game, Vince Dooley, then-Georgia
athletic director and resident coaching legend, told me, "Let's get on to the
next millennium. I'm tired of the 1990s and watching Florida win all the time."

Well, here we are in 2009 and another doggone decade of dominance has
come to an end for the Gators.

"Run, Lindsay, Run" has been replaced by "Run, Timmy, Run."

The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party has turned into the World's
Largest Outdoor Pity Party.

On Halloween, Georgia's one-time Big Dawgs once again came dressed as
Florida's purring little pussycats.
