When he could have had a lot of good stuff to say about the number 1 team
in nation which, one would rightly assume, has fans in his readership area,
Volin writes 3 paragraphs.

I'm being generous!

Gators talking points: So THIS is what the offense is supposed to look like
by Ben Volin
Talking points from the Gators’ 41-17 win over Georgia….
It’s amazing how good the offense looks when the Gators don’t turn the ball
over. Maybe the offense hasn’t been that bad this year. Maybe all it needed was
a turnover-free game to prove that Tim Tebow hasn’t lost a step, the offensive
line isn’t that bad and the playmakers can make plays. The defense set up the
offense with great field position all day, but the 374 yards of offense, on 6.1
yards per play, was one of the Gators’ finest performances of the season.
Florida has the best linebackers in the country, and it isn’t even close. The
three starting linebackers combined for four interceptions Saturday.A.J. Jones
pulled down two, Ryan Stamper had the first one of his career and Brandon
Spikes punctuated the victory with a 5-yard interception touchdown at the end.
Spikes, playing with a hurt groin, also led the team with 10 tackles, while
Jones had five tackles, two for loss. It’s scary to think how good the defense
could be if Spikes were completely healthy.
Urban Meyer is working his motivational magic. Known as one of the best
motivators in the country, Meyer got his players in the perfect frame of mind
this week. It began with a talk from UF basketball coach Billy Donovan on
Thursday, who preached about sticking together in the face of adversity. It
continued Friday at the hotel, with a fiery speech in front of the entire team.
And it ended Saturday, when a calm, collected Florida team completely
dismantled its arch-rival. Meyer just has to make sure his team doesn’t get
complacent with tough games against South Carolina and Florida State looming on
the schedule.
