I tried to come up with something so I could be cool like that, but nothing
struck me. I like Dan Mullen too much to post anything disparaging about his
picture, I think. He does sorta look a bit constipated in that shot, but that
didn't seem to be the way I'd want to go with my debut on the site. LOL.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen does his best impression
of Rodin's The
                    Thinker.

Longtime Urban Meyer assistant Dan Mullen is off to a
decent start in his
first year as Mississippi State head coach.

Granted, the Bulldogs have a losing record (4-5) at this
point, but decent
is a subjective term when it comes to MSU football.

Mullen's team has already matched last year's win total
with three games
left to play. Throw in the fact that Mississippi State
faces one of the
toughest schedules in college football, and that's
progress. Four of MSU's
five losses came against teams that are in the top 15 of
the BCS rankings
(No. 1 Florida, No. 9 LSU, No. 10 Georgia Tech and No. 15
Houston).

Meyer has said that Mullen's best attribute is his
intelligence. So for this
week's Caption Planet, I decided on this photo of Dan
Mullen trying to solve
world hunger during the Bulldogs' 31-24 victory against
Kentucky in
                    Lexington on Saturday.

                    On to this week's winners.

If there's one thing I've taken away from this season of
college football,
it's that putting Lane Kiffin's name in a headline
exponentially increases
Web traffic. I might actually just start using a photo of
the new "Mouth of
                    the South" here every week.

                    "Can you believe those refs?"

This week's winning caption goes to willgetin. "Lane Kiffin
giving Crompton
a sobriety test after an interception"

                    Honorable mentions

"Keep your chin up, son. You've had lots of moral
completions today." Rob
                    Alexander

"Wait... which way is our endzone...? Over there? Really?
  DAD!!!!!!!"
                    Scott

"Jonathan, would you stop picking your nose when I'm
talking to you!!"
                    Oliver Barry

"Trust me Crompton, If we draw a really big Superman "S" on
your jersey,
youll be as good as Tebow!" Frank W

"Coach, can you point out our wide receivers for me again?"

Dan Mullen ponders growing a beard like Brandon Spikes so
his Deffense will
                    play better!
