I may be a little biased, but I think all of the Gatortalkers' lines are
better than the winners' every week.

"Two late-season losses in a row? Here we go again." (The Associated Press)

South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier's tenure with the Gamecocks has
been a lot like the candy Sour Patch Kids. They both start out sweet and
then turn sour toward the end.

Spurrier seems to give South Carolina fans a reason to be optimistic every
year, but he has dealt with late-season downturns in his first five seasons
in Columbia.

The Gamecocks closed the season with two straight losses in 2005, Spurrier's
first season at South Carolina. Two years later, the Gamecocks started the
season with a 6-1 record before losing five straight. Last year, Spurrier's
squad lost three straight to close out the year.

This season, South Carolina heads into Saturday's game against top-ranked
Florida after two consecutive losses against Tennessee and Arkansas. Despite
all the frustration, Spurrier isn't giving up on the Gamecocks. He said
Tuesday that he hopes to be around for another three or four years.

In honor of the Head Ball Coach's resiliency, this week's Caption Planet is
dedicated to that all-too-familiar look on Spurrier's face over the past
five seasons.

On to this week's winners.

Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen does his best impression of Rodin's The
Thinker.

This week's top caption for the photo of Mississippi State's quizzical coach
Dan Mullen goes to John B. "Toto, I have the feeling we're not in
Gainesville anymore."

Honorable mentions

"What the hell has Adazzio done to my offense?!" Rob Alexander

"Gee, Ref, can't you flag Demps for breaking the speed limit?" Oliver Barry

"Really? Dive play.again?" ccb223

"Can someone tell me why I left Florida to come to this cowtown again?" ag

"I wish Spikes would jerk out this tooth!" Leon Polhill

Thanks to everybody that contributed last week. Send in your ideas this week
for the Steve Spurrier photo. Add your entries as comments below or e-mail
them to [email protected]. Also if you have any funny photos you would
like to see appear in Caption Planet, send those my way as well.
