I think the number of plays was supposed to be significant not only because it meant our defense was on the field (getting tired?) but that also meant more chances for USCe to score, and fewer plays for our offense to score. Of course if we had more 3 and done posses ions like our first one, that statistic would be beyond moot.

My point was - the way that we rotate defensive players - and the depth that we have - we look as strong and fast in the 4th quarter as we do in the first quarter - if not stronger and faster. Whereas most opposing offenses tend to wear down during the game - our defense usually gets stronger.
