And the Gators are expected to sign the SEC maximum of 28 players on national signing day (Feb. 3). Of the 24 high school prospects who have committed to the Gators, 11 are enrolled in classes and will participate in spring practice. The latest early enrollees include three of the five UF commitments who played in Saturday's Army All-American Game in San Antonio - cornerback Jaylen Watkins and West Palm Beach Dwyer teammates Matt Elam (safety) and Gerald Christian (tight end). Elam is one of the three five-star prospects who announced for Florida during Saturday's game. The others were defensive tackle Shariff Floyd and defensive end Ronald Powell. UF's other early enrollees are defensive end Neiron Ball, quarterback Trey Burton, wide receiver Robert Clark (another Dwyer teammate of Elam and Christian), defensive back Jordan Haden, defensive lineman Leon Orr, wide receiver Solomon Patton, defensive back Joshua Shaw and offensive lineman Ian Silberman. With UF losing so many impact players (including a handful of underclassmen to the NFL), the early enrollees will have a chance to compete for immediate playing time this spring. All rights reserved.
