Actually, Jerry, we do have crew bunks on the 777 a/c and we (me when I worked Purser) would schedule each f/a to take breaks after the first service was completed. Not every f/a took a break at once, obviously. Usually only 4 of the 11 at one time. We still had to do services while others were on break. You never stopped on those, or any other international flights. On a flight as long as the trip from ORD to DEL, we would take two separate breaks...usually the first one was short and the second longer because of the fatigue level. Trust me, it was not the greatest rest in the world because those bunks were not like a real bed!!! By the time we landed in DEL (which was usually around 9pm of the next night after we took off at 7pm the night before), you were pretty much brain-dead!! I was often fond of saying that I got a college education so I wouldn't have to work the midnight shift and look what I was doing. That's a lot of the reason I took the buy-out/retirement package when it was offered in 2008. I seriously wanted to sleep normal hours in my own bed.
