John,

According to Meriam Webster, you are correct and Kevin is wrong.  According to
dictionary.com, you both are correct as the "s" version is an alternative
spelling.  I have always seen it with a "z" in my life, but then I'm from
Tennessee so what would I know about "proper" English.  My Mom, being from
Minnesota, tried to teach me proper English, but it never stuck.  :-)

Later,

SHANE

Either Kevin or I have been spelling "cognizant" incorrectly all of our lives.
