The Gators will now more than likely turn to the spring recruiting period in search of another point guard to take pressure off Walker and Boynton. One player who won't be in their future plans is two- time Gatorade National Player of the Year Brandon Knight. According to Scout.com, the Gators are no longer pursuing Knight, a 6-foot-3 five-star point guard from outside Fort Lauderdale.

This is a big concern to me, if the assumption is that Knight has crossed UF off of his list in favor of UK or a similar out of state school.

We have been recruiting Wright for years, and he is from Florida.

The last time there was a recruit of this caliber from the state it was Vince Carter, who spurned UF for Carolina. That was the beginning of the end for Kruger who learned that, no matter how well he could coach, he would lose the once-in-a-decade elite players to an out-of- state school.

I fear that our inability to capitalize upon our NCAA Championships has placed us back in this position, that Kentucky is ascendent, and that we are headed back to the way things were.
