The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Pittman, who played wide receiver and safety for the Colts last season, met with Florida head coach Urban Meyer last week after participating in a UF summer camp. The versatile athlete already held verbal offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia, among others. But receiving the news directly from Meyer seems to have put the Gators in the driver’s seat. “It was exciting. Something I’ve been waiting for for a long time,” Pittman said of his UF offer. “We set up a date after July 4th to sit down and talk about it again.” Pittman, a lifelong Gator fan, plans to take his parents with him when he returns to Gainesville in a couple of weeks.
