Good questions, Keith. I'm not sure about those answers. I just know we're
going to win it all this year!! :-)

UF vs. Miami of Ohio [Andreu]

Oh come on. What kind of "look ahead" is this garbage?

What we will want to know is:

1. How good does Brantley look? Is his pass percentage greater than 70%?

2. Did Moody finally decide he wants to play?

3. Can Demps break one play to show that he is the fastest player in college
football?

4. Can Deonte hold on to the ball?

5. Is Debose ready to play? Or will Rainey start out as #1 in the slot?

6. Has Mack Brown been able to learn the playbook?

7. Who will start at CB opposite Janoris Jenkins?

8. Will the TEs get any catches?

9. Will Jordan Reed or Trey Burton get to run the wildcat or on 3rd or 4th
down?

10. How healthy are the Defensive linemen?

11. How do the new 5 star defensive linemen freshmen look? Does Powell
start?

12. Does Bostic or Jelani Jenkins start at MLB?

13. Can Will Hill, Ahmad Black, or Janoris Jenkins get an interception to
start padding their stats?

14. Is Matt Patchan finally healthy and ready to go?

15. Is Urban Meyer really delegating or still micro managing?

16. Will they open up the offense this year and let it all fly - or play
conservative?

Looking ahead to UF vs. Miami of Ohio

It's your Daily Football Fix! Gainesville Sun staff writers are here to help
get you through the long, hot summer with a daily dose of college football.
The series runs every day until the start of fall practice.

Everybody already knows everything there is to know about Alabama and
Georgia and the rest of the SEC teams on Florida's 2010 schedule. But what
about those other schools (other than Florida State) that fill out the
non-conference schedule?

Miami of Ohio, South Florida and Appalachian State.

It seems like a good time to take a look at those teams over the next week
or so, starting with Miami of Ohio, which comes to The Swamp for the season
opener on Sept. 4.

Based on last season, the Redhawks should be typical opening-day fodder for
the Gators.

In head coach Mike Haywood's first season in 2009, the Redhawks were a
miserable 1-11 overall and 1-7 in the Mid-American Conference.

With most of the starters returning, this team is expected to be more
competitive, but opening against Florida on the road could be a major
downer.

The key player for Miami is quarterback Zac Dysert, who played in 11 games
as a freshman last year and threw for more than 2,600 yards. He could
provide a good test for a Florida secondary that must replace All-American
cornerback Joe Haden and hard-hitting safety Major Wright. Senior tailback
Thomas Merriweather, who rushed for 106 yards in the spring game, gives the
Redhawks a little bit of balance that could help their effort in The Swamp.

Both Miami coordinators are familiar with Florida and SEC football.

Defensive coordinator Carl Reese faced the Gators when he was the defensive
coordinator at LSU and Vanderbilt in the 1990s. He's the guy who held a
coaching clinic about defending Steve Spurrier's offense after LSU limited
the Gators to 28 points in a 28-10 LSU loss in Baton Rouge in 1995. (By the
way, Spurrier blew up Reese's defense a year later in a 56-13 UF rout at
Florida Field).

Miami offensive coordinator Morris Watts went against UF when he was the
offensive coordinator at LSU under Nick Saban (1999-2002). Watts also was
the offensive coordinator at Mississippi State in 2003, but UF did not play
MSU that year.

The Redhawks have an experienced coaching staff and many players returning
from last season, but they're probably facing a major beatdown in The Swamp
on Sept. 4.

This is a team that opened the 2009 season against an SEC opponent,
Kentucky, and the Redhawks fell hard, 42-0 in Lexington. It could/should get
even uglier in Gainesville.
