[more] Yes (36.1%) No (63.9%) One woman is apologizing to the University of Arkansas football team and Coach Bobby Petrino. She wants them to know she's sorry for wearing a University of Florida ball cap to a U of A press conference Saturday. She said it she just grabbed it to cover up her head. But it cost her job as a reporter for the Hog Sports radio in Northwest Arkansas. Renee Gork did an interview with another Northwest Arkansas radio station, ESPN Radio, 92.1 Monday evening."I was getting e-mails that had a lot of profanity. I even had a couple of death threats," she said on the show. She went on to say, "I felt bad. I did not have any intention to make a big deal out of it." During the post-scrimmage, Saturday press conference while answering one of Gork's questions, Petrino said,"I thought the defense really came back in the second half. And that will be the last question I answer with that hat on." He was referring to her Florida Gators hat. She thought he was kidding but he wasn't. Justin Acri, host of The Zone on Buzz radio in Little Rock, said he got one call about this toward the end of his show Monday but he expects the phones to light up Tuesday as word gets around that Gork has been let go. Acri said, "there will probably be people who would defend her and I'd say there's probably a case to be made there. But I would say the majority of Razorback fans, passionate as they are, would probably be like good, it's the right thing to do." Aside from the fact that Florida is another SEC team, a lot of tension harkens back to the October 18th game last season when the hogs lost a close one against the Gators. Hog Radio general manager Dan Storrs told Fox16, "without a doubt we are, as you can tell, Hog Sports Radio. So we are 100 percent Arkansas Razorbacks. We are very biased here at this radio station. So wearing a Florida hat to a press conference is not something we should be doing." But he also said Gork is very talented and he had a hard time making the decision.
