Dooley's last sentence here is important to remember. Meyer sure pulled it out of the fire after 2007.
Remember losing to Ole Miss? Remember that bowl game with Michigan? That was bad. We had just won a NC the year before! We may not win it all next year, but I bet we're in the NC hunt by then. In all the talk about Addazio and Mullen I think most are forgetting one thing. Dooley alluded to it in this column. Meyer and the entire coaching staff have worked together on the play calling offensively and defensively. If you thought Mullen was boring, you were just getting Meyer. If you think Addizio is unimaginative, you're just getting the Meyer override. I don't think either of these last two OCs are acting independently. Last year and the year before it didn't matter. Next year many will still be complaining about Addazio, but it won't matter as much with the won/loss record improving vastly.
