Personally, if they find that Cam's dad had solicited payment to play for anyone, they should throw the book at Cam. Otherwise, that's setting a dangerous precedent for people doing things on the player's behalf and allowing the player to simply say "I never knew anything about it". Not where they should be going.
And I'd be saying the same thing if it were Ryan Mallett instead of Cam.
