No need to apologize, Steve. Your post was correct - 1/2$$U didn't need the
refs' help to beat us. I would venture that if the refs had given us every
call, we would have still lost. The responses you received were merely
opinions
generated from frustrated, emotional fans. It has been a tough season, but in
the end, thank God we are Gators, win or lose. Fortunately, we have an
opportunity to end the season on a good note. Beat whoever we play in whatever
bowl game!!!!

First off, I apologize for calling posters out by name in the heat of the
aftermath of last night's debacle.

For the record, in response to Stacy's question about a particular call, I took
the opportunity to bash the ACC crew that worked the game for being, on
occasion, what I felt, and still feel to be,unfair to the Gators. My memory of
the ACC crew that worked the swindle in the swamp in 2003 is still bitter.

That opinion was ridiculed (but I wasn't called out by name) for "putting a
modicum of blame(for the loss) at the feet of the officials". I had explicitly
stated that we were so bad that the semis didn't need their help to win the
game.

In my opinion, that doesn't exonerate the crew for their blatant errors - even
if, as was pointed out, the "roughing the snapper" penalty call was correct - I
still don't ever recall it being called that before, maybe it falls under a
bigger umbrella of "personal foul". From a conference whose referee once called
a foul "giving him the business" I suppose anything is possible.

I'll address my opinions on the mess that was/is this miserable football season
in a separate post.

Again, I apologize for my post game indiscretion.
