His head coach-in-waiting status elevates him above most other "only
coordinators".

He is known as a great recruiter.

He looks like the kind of guy that will be able to restore discipline to a
fractured and fractious team.

And...since UT isn't in a bowl game, he can get to work on all of the above
right away.

I'm not buying this yet.  If it is true, it is a bad
hire, plain and simple.  If UF can not get a better head coach than a
coordinator, then we are in trouble.  Muschamp is an excellent coordinator
and is widely thought to be a great head coach one day, but his first gig
shouldn't be here.  Add to that he is coming off a 5-7 season as head coach
in waiting at U Tx and is a dawg, I feel like this is Zook
II.

No way is this a better hire than Charlie Strong, at least he
has one year HC experience.  Please let this not be
true!

  AUSTIN,
Texas — A person familiar with the decision says Texas defensive coordinator
Will Muschamp has accepted an offer to be the head coach at Florida.
  Muschamp,
who just finished his third season at Texas, where he was the
head-coach-in-waiting to succeed Mack Brown, replaces Urban Meyer at
  Florida.
  The
person confirming the move spoke on condition of anonymity because they were
