I think that next year we will run a lot of 3-guard unless we are able to recruit a big at the last minute.
I am concerned about our bigs and even forwards for next year. I think we will have to out-quick most of our competition next year to win. Can Florida keep ailing Tennessee swingman Scotty Hopson in check? Hopson had his usual big day against Florida, scoring 22 points on 9-14 shooting. But Florida was able to limit Hopson's damage late by putting freshman Scottie Wilbekin on him in the closing minutes. Wilbekin held Hopson scoreless the final 6:10. FREE THROWS: Donovan said he planned to hold Boynton out for a minute after his costly technical foul against Hopson with 6:10 left, but because Wilbekin was playing so well defensively against Hopson, he kept Wilbekin in the game. I am extremely impressed as to how well Wilbekin has played as of late. For an untouted last minute recruit to be playing so well in SEC games as a Freshman is incredible. Given that he should really be in High School is nothing short of astounding. This leads me to my puzzle - what on earth are we doing next year? No one from the back court graduates. I don't think that Boynton or Walker are playing well enough to go pro early. Recruit Beal is supposed to be the next coming of Vince Carter. Transer Rosario was a McDonald's All-American. Wilbekin is playing like a star, and has the build and mindset to go with it. Do we go three deep in the backcourt next year; having two McDonalds's All-Americans sit on the bench? Do we go to a three guard offense? Any ideas? -Zeb -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us
