I'm thinking my sisters and I need to Thelma-and-Louise it down to the
Cotillion in one of their convertibles very soon. I'd make a special trip
for that kind of experience... and food. ;-)

There was a discussion in this group recently about visiting Gainesville
for the O&B game, and in the discussion, someone mentioned The Cotillion
Cafe in Wildwood. I just want to say THANK YOU to whomever it was who
recommended it, as on our trip up to G'ville last week from Tampa, we made
a point of stopping in for lunch there and we were NOT disappointed.
Absolutely delicious (and terribly fattening) Southern cooking. A friend
called it "heart attack food" but if that's true, well, let it be a meal
from there that kills me! ;-)
That would be me, and many thanks for trying it out!
I believe it is an undiscovered gem; everything is made from scratch from
the pie crusts to the salad dressings.
It is classic southern cooking and the ambience in the old courthouse
building couldn't be more Americana.
We go out of our way during our Summer road trips just to enjoy a meal
there.
