Pre-game musing: * This is the 5th time Vandy has played in the SEC Baseball Tournament championship game in the past 8 seasons. * UF last appeared in the game 11 years ago. * Vandy last won the SEC Tournament championship game in 2007. * UF last won the game in 1991, 5 years before the current 8-team Tournament format. * Game attendance may be low since neither Alabama nor Auburn are playing. * Vandy fans are likely to be on their way to cheer their team to the championship and to increase the already sizable number of Commodore fans who have been in Hoover. * It remains to be seen if the handful of Gator fans attending the Tournament will gain as many fans for their 1st championship game in 20 years. * The Conference waited until the last minute prior to the start of the 2011 SEC Baseball Tournament to sign a new 5-year contract keeping the Tournament at Regions Park in Hoover, AL.
