SOS is still an alum and a gridiron hero. Even as coach of a competitor, he speaks highly of us and participates in appropriate ceremonies. I don't think I would feel the same way of UM if he accepted another high-profile coaching position. If he can't coach again because of health reasons, or takes over at some school like Canisius to keep out his family's hair, that would not bother me. But, a perennial national title contender? That would bug me. To avoid this angst, perhaps we should make the Ring for players only.
