I rarely post here, too. I do enjoy reading all the comments daily. I
keep this email account just for GatorTalk. You guys are great and it
provides a good break during the grind of the day. I don't have many
complaints about this season. Absolutely wish we were doing better. Not
sure we can compare talent to Auburn and Georgia. We've had some good
classes but, the aforementioned personnel turnover (NFL, issues, transfers,
etc.) has killed those classes. We've really missed lately on RB's (Mack
Brown and Blakely) and WR's (Dunkley and Debose) and that shows in the
quality of play. We've missed some key targets that our coaching staffs
probably thought we were going to land. It goes back to CJ Spiller. That
guy grew up 30 minutes from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Timmy Jernigan from
Lake City. Sammy Watkins! (we got his brother and not him!). How do we
let these guys get away? LB's, that's another issue. How long has
Lerentee McCray been around without finding his way into the starting
lineup? That guy has been making plays and it's needed plays (not just sub
or mop-up duty). Fortunately, it appears that the coaching staff is
working a recruiting class to build a football team with. DJ Humphries and
Jessamen Dunker may do for our OL that the Pouncey twins did, two big RB's,
some depth for DL, more competition for the DB's, and solid TE's. I just
wonder if we'll get the "big" receiver for Brissett and/or Driskel. Good
news is, we've got lots of room for the recruiting class and a coach that
doesn't mind freeing up more room if needed. :) With the talent level
being worked on, hopefully coach can learn to contain himself on the
sidelines so we can get some of these calls to go our way!
