The sun came up yesterday, and to prove it wasn't a fluke, rose again
today. Sigh. So, the world didn't end Saturday nite, it only felt
that way. I can't be depressed forever, it's Monday, and life must go
on. Certainly, the bills will still need to be paid. But, what can I
do to lift my mood? What are the positives that I can focus on?
--f$u had not had less than 100 yards of offense in a game since 1957,
before I was born!
(Barely before I was born, but well after Oliver got his
certificate of attendance at High School)
--We caused 9 punts, and only allowed 6 pass completions.
--Greg Reid repeatedly proved the criminoles are still thugs, making
me glad to be Gator, even if on the short end of the score.
--We had 13 tackles for loss!
--We held the semi's to 2 of 15 on third down.
--After 46 rushing attempts, the Gator D gave up a total of only 30
yards!
--We didn't get shut out.
(Okay, I'm reaching, but not getting shut out IS much better
than getting shut out)
--The Gator D looked like a Muschamp D. The athletes played the
coaches schemes, and the result was near perfection. I can hardly
wait for next year!
(At least defensively)
(And maybe our O won't give away a bowl shutout)
--The hit(s) that took out Brantley were helmet to helmet to helmet,
yet again justifying my belief that the Gators are the good guys, and
the criminoles are still thugs.
(Has anybody seen a picture on the Internet that matches the
paused screen shot on my DVR, that is, Brantley's helmet being
'touched' simultaneously, on both sides, by criminole helmets?)
--Gator fans are intelligent enough to have words in our cheers.
Cheers,
GatorGene
