Football Coaching Staff

Coaching Accomplishments
• Norvell has unique experience in coaching both in the NFL Super Bowl
and BCS championship. He was promoted to Co-Offensive Coordinator on
Dec. 13.

• In 2010, Ryan Broyles set eight of the nine major receiving records
at Oklahoma en route to All-America status and the finals of the
Biletnikoff Award, while Kenny Stills shattered the school's freshman
receiving records.

• Norvell's 2009 group was led by Broyles who finished the year No. 1
at OU for receptions in a season (89) and TDs in a season (15) and No.
3 for yards in a season (1,120). He led the Big 12 in TD receptions.

• The 2008 receivers hauled in 49 TDs. Juaquin Iglesias led with 1,092
yards and three others eclipsed 500. OU receivers averaged 356.5
yards/game, 14.3 yards/catch.

• Prior to OU, Norvell spent his 21 years as a coach with Iowa,
Northern Iowa, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Indianapolis Colts, Oakland
Raiders, Nebraska and most recently was the offensive
coordinator/quarterbacks coach for UCLA.

• In 2007, Norvell led the UCLA offense to a fast start, but injuries
set back the Bruins in the second half of the season. UCLA went
through four QBs and despite a walk-on freshman as the lead signal
caller, UCLA beat two top-10 teams and played in the Las Vegas Bowl.

• In 2006, Nebraska won the Big 12 North and was one of two schools to
rank in the top 25 in rushing, passing, total offense and scoring
offense. NU ranked No. 23 in passing (244.1 yards/game); No. 23 in
rushing, (170.5 yards/game); No. 14 in total offense (414.6
yards/game); and 17th in scoring (30.6 points/game). QB Zac Taylor was
the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. He set school records with
3,197 passing yards, 26 TDs and 3,165 total yards.

• In 2005, Taylor broke the NU game records for passing yards (431),
completions (36), attempts (55) and total offense (433), and
single-season marks for completions (237) and attempts (430).

• In 2004, Norvell helped the Husker QBs post the fifth 2,000-plus
yard passing season in program history and its best passing average
(186.9) since 1976.

• In 2002, he helped the Oakland Raiders to the Super Bowl. The team
featured the most prolific offense in the NFL at nearly 390 total
yards/game. Norvell played a key role in designing a passing attack
that averaged 279.7 yards. Oakland finished with two explosive
play-off efforts, defeating the New York Jets 30-10, before a 41-24
victory over Tennessee in the AFC title game.

• From 1998-2001, he served as WRs coach for the Indianapolis Colts,
working with the passing game and tutoring All-Pro Marvin Harrison. In
Norvell's final season, Harrison had 109 catches for 1,524 yards and
15 TDs.

• In 2002, Harrison became the only player in NFL history with four
consecutive 100-catch seasons. Under Norvell, Harrison had 385
receptions for 5,376 yards and 48 TDs.

• In 1997 at Iowa State, passing improved by nearly 100 yards/game. Ty
