Exactly, which is why I am not buying UF's spin on this - basically what UF is doing is limiting faculty and students to a community college-level program. No high quality faculty will stay for this, and few CS students will want a degree from that program, especially since the degree with now be a BA instead of a BS. Add this to the decisions to eliminate nursing and disassociate IFAS from UF, and I really have to question Machen's priorities. Of course, he has been pushed into some really difficult decisions due the draconian budget he has been given by the state to work with, but I think this is a horrible decision, and not the simple "re-organization" being spun by UF.
