The game yesterday felt like I had stepped into a time warp and was transported back to the Dean/Wuerffel era. Back then, we often struggled in the first half only to come out in the second half and put the game away. Driscoll reminds me very much of Danny at that age and level of experience. I think if we give him a chance to get more game experience, he'll develop into something special. We keep hearing... it's a new system, so they need a few years to learn it... the o-line needs better conditioning (and now they have that) and to learn a pro-style system... the QB is young and inexperienced, so you can't expect too much of him yet (even though he was the #1 rated QB out of HS)... and so on. That all sounds reasonable in the abstract, but here we are playing a team with a first-year coach, in a completely new system, with a redshirt freshman making his first start, and they look like veterans doing it. So, I guess I'm sitting here wondering, if other teams can change systems immediately, put together complex offensive schemes with no experience, and make it work, why can't we?
