.but you DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, right? That's enough
qualifications for me. Now, about this itch I have, doc.

I think sometimes viral infections can lead to secondary bacterial
infections. I'm not a doctor either.

Yeah, we don't know that it's meningitis. I just posted that because someone
asked how treatable it is (if that's what he has). One thing that's
confusing is Muschamp said it's a viral infection and he's on the hospital
receiving antibiotics. I'm no physician, but I thought antibiotics weren't
effective against viral infections. Given the suddenness of it all, and how
they're already noting weight loss, being in the hospital on antibiotics,
and such, I'm way past worrying about the team and am really worried about
Matt. This sounds potentially very dangerous.

Excerpts from WebMD...

Meningitis <http://children.webmd.com/vaccines/meningitis> is inflammation
of the coverings around the brain
<http://www.webmd.com/brain/picture-of-the-brain> and spinal cord. It is
usually caused by an infection.

There are two main kinds of meningitis
<http://www.webmd.com/brain/understanding-meningitis-basics> :
. Viral meningitis is fairly common. It usually does not cause
serious illness. In severe cases, it can cause prolonged fever
<http://firstaid.webmd.com/fevers-causes-symptoms-treatments> and seizures.
. Bacterial meningitis is not as common but is very serious. It needs
to be treated right away to prevent brain damage
<http://www.webmd.com/brain/brain-damage-symptoms-causes-treatments> and
death.
.

Bacterial meningitis is treated with antibiotics in a hospital. You may also
get dexamethasone. And you will be watched carefully to prevent serious
problems such as hearing loss, seizures, or brain damage.
But viral meningitis is more common, and most people with this form of the
illness get better in about 2 weeks. With mild cases, you may only need home
treatment. Home treatment includes drinking lots of fluids and taking
medicine for fever and pain.

They didnt say and it would be a HIPAA violation if they did. Last thing UF
wants is that kinda drama. (Trust me. I know about those things).
