I was tempted to respond to this too. Bianchi is just trying to get people stirred up. No football program is selling out right now, including Texas and Alabama. And, if Texas does make an offer to Muschamp Florida can match it. Two fans said something on Twitter? Wow! That's never happened. Now that it's becoming more and more clear that Brown may be forced out after this season, the question is will Texas AD DeLoss Dodds one-up Foley by stealing Muschamp back from the Gators. With apologies to Dodds ... Muschamp leaving Gainesville would be a massive "De-Loss" for the Gators and an incredible "De-Win" for the Longhorns. When I said on the Paul Finebaum radio show earlier this week that Gator Nation should be "concerned" about Texas coming after Muschamp, the general response could be summed up in a series of tweets. One fan tweeted that Gator fans should only be "concerned if Texas doesn't take Muschamp back." Another claimed, "Gator fans will drive him to the airport." Another said, "Maybe he'll take (offensive coordinator) Brent Pease with him." Granted, this is just few smart-alecky fans coming after UF was upset by Miami, but I've thought for a long time that Gator Nation doesn't truly appreciate what Muschamp is doing to rebuild their program. Too many fans in today's texting, tweeting world of instant gratification only consider what happened in the last game and don't project what will happen in the next five years. They don't consider that Muschamp is already recognized as one of the best recruiters and tacticians in the country. Muschamp took over a program that even Meyer admitted was "broken" when he left - a program bereft of depth, discipline and offensive playmakers. Much like his mentor, Nick Saban, Muschamp has gone about building Florida's program with a nasty defense and an offense based on power running. Gator Nation, for the most part, has seemed unimpressed. Last year, in only his second year on the job, Muschamp won 11 times and had Florida in contention for the national title game until the final week of the regular season when Notre Dame beat USC. The Gators got invited to the Sugar Bowl<http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/sports/football/sugar-bowl-EVSPR00003527.topic>, but sold less than half their allotment of tickets and were badly outnumbered by Louisville fans. Such apathy simply wouldn't have happened at Texas, where Muschamp was the revered "Coach Boom" when he was Brown's defensive coordinator and the hottest assistant in the land. "Will had a tremendous impact (on UT's national championship success)," longtime columnist Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman told me the other day. "People here loved Will." You'd think Gator fans would love him, too. He grew up in Gainesville rooting for UF. As a kid, with his grandfather in a rocking chair watching him from the porch, young Will would play by himself in the back yard, pretending to be one of his UF heroes. He is the anti-Urban. Coaching the Gators TRULY has always been his dream job. The problem is, Gator fans want offense whereas Muschamp is considered one of the premier defensive minds in all of football. If you don't believe it, just look at how far Texas' defense has fallen since he left. Even though Texas was 5-7 in Muschamp's last year as defensive coordinator, it had nothing to do with Muschamp's side of the ball. The Longhorns ranked No. 6 nationally in total defense that season. Since Muschamp's departure, the Longhorns dropped to No. 11 two years ago in defense, plunged to No. 67 last year and currently are ranked No. 114. In an unprecedented move, Brown fired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz only two games into the season. The speculation is that Brown will be the next to go, and Texas will be in the market for a new coach. Florida fans would be foolish to think Muschamp wouldn't consider leaving. UF may be a big, wealthy program in the middle of talent-rich recruiting state, but Texas is a bigger, wealthier program in the middle of an even more talent-rich recruiting state. There would also be the added benefit for Muschamp of not having to endure the meat-grinderSEC<http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/sports/college-sports/southeastern-conference-ORSPT00000246.topic> schedule every year or compete with Nick Saban and the Alabama<http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/sports/college-sports/alabama-crimson-tide-ORSPT000016136.topic> monster for conference championships. If Muschamp were to leave, many UF fans probably think the Gators could go out and hire somebody better. This, of course, is a dangerous attitude to have. Muschamp is one of the hottest young head coaches in all of college football.
