Comcast, the primary service provider for South Florida, will not offer the game to customers because of a technical issue, UF announced on Friday.
Sun Sports offered the telecast, which kicks off at 2 p.m., to all cable providers in the state, but the network and Comcast failed to resolve the technical issue, Mike Hill, UF's executive associate athletics director for external affairs, told the school's Web site.
Hill called the snag "extremely unfortunate."The game will, however, be available on AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV <http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/economy-business-finance/media-industry/satellite-cable-service/directv-group-inc.-ORCRP015173.topic> or Dish Network, as well as at restaurants and other establishments.
The game is UF's only game shown on pay-for-view. Beginning next season, the fledgling SEC <http://www.orlandosentinel.com/topic/sports/college-sports/southeastern-conference-ORSPT00000246.topic> Network will elminate pay-for-view games in the league, spokesman Chuck Dunlap said.
