I had the opportunity to see the Gators live against Wisconsin last week in
Madison. Overall that was a great experience, the Kohl Center is a great
venue, and while the Gators were undermanned, I still thought they played well.
This will be a good team come tournament time.

And today while those of you who have a grip were enjoying a beautiful 75
degree day in the Swamp, I was at TCF Bank stadium watching the Gophers and
Badgers battle it out for the axe. It was the first time in ten years in
Minnesota that the game day experience resembled anything like a real college
game day. Great tailgating, full stadium and a hard fought game. Of course it
was about 9 degrees, with a 1 or 2 degree wind chill, but hey, what's a couple
more layers? Of course, I'm following the Gator game on my phone and cursing
with gophers looking at me like I was crazy.

The one big difference at the game was the overall congeniality amongst the
fans. Reminded me of the way the SEC used to be. Most of this us attributed
to the fact the a large number of the Wisconsin fans in attendance live in the
twin cities and were there with their neighbors and coworkers. But still, it
was fun, with me decked out in Gator gear to see the lack of rancor between
these rivals.

The bright side of the day, if you can call it that, was after the game in the
bar, I didn't have to pay for a drink. For goodness sakes, Minnesota fans were
buying me drinks because the Gators lost, how pathetic.

And if anyone finds that mule that kicked me in the head...
