I see it a little differently (as to offense/defense). While I am certainly disappointed with the long runs, this is a very hard offense to defend against. GS gained over 300 yards and scored 21 points against Alabama in 2011. Alabama's defense was ranked #1 in the nation at the time and went on to win the BCS championship. The difference was that Alabama scored 45 points on offense, so the game was never in question. Sometimes, your offense needs to go win a game for you.
If this were an SEC team, we might be able to make the third string offense argument, but that just doesn't fly here. There is no player on their team who would have received an offer from Florida, so our third string should be better than their first string. That's why we pay them half a million dollars to come get beat up by us. But here's the real clincher. We weren't playing against their first string. They have lost 19 players to injury this year, and they only have a 70 man roster, so they were more beat up than we were, in both total numbers and by percentage of their team. We were soundly beaten, on both sides of the ball, by a team with zero 3-star recruits that had lost more players to injury than we have. Yet again, we were beaten by a freshman QB. We are all out of excuses. I do completely agree that we lost this game because of coaching, but I put it on both sides. The offensive game calling was pathetic.
