All I can say is really untimely hitting. Bats have gone cold and they're just not moving runners when they get them on base. I forget how many runners were left on base in the Alabama series, but it was crazy high. I wasn't able to see the Tennessee series or FSU game so I'm not really sure of details there, but they lost by small margins.
In the beginning of the season, pitching was shutting down everyone and offense was plentiful, although much of it was from manufactured runs (walks, stolen bases, hit-by-pitch, sacrifices). This team's always feasted on manufactured runs but in past also a good mix of singles hitters and power hitters with much plate discipline. Maybe they'll surprise us - I can't tell you how many times they've dominated in the regular season only to get to the final or semi-final in Oklahoma and collapse. It'd be nice if they start turning it around in time to perform well in the tournament, get a good spot in the regionals, and finally make it happen at the WCWS.
