I guess the choices were Big East or independent like Hopkins. I would also surmise that UF and Vandy would want to go to the same conference just for a natural rivalry. I'm a little disappointed as the competition in the Big East doesn't appear to be as good as the new Big 10 or the ACC. Hopefully schedules would allow for good out-of-conference matchups however. Coach Mandy sells and delivers a great program that quality players want to participate in, so maybe this won't have any effect on recruiting.
