Gators may finish hotter than any other SEC school, if these guys decide to
come aboard

If it seems a bit early to be talking about who will finish the best down the
stretch, you aren’t paying attention to how quickly top prospects are flying
off the shelves this year.

But in Florida’s case, it may have more “in front” of it than any school in the
SEC. Byron Cowart’s the No. 1 overall prospect in the Rivals100. CeCe Jefferson
and Martez Ivey are top 10 national prospects who are seriously considering the
Gators. George Campbell is a five-star guy too, and four-star studs like
Jeffery Holland, Ray-Ray McCloud, Adonis Thomas and Abdul Bello could all very
well end up with the Gators.

Right now, Florida sits at No. 22 in the nation with its 10 commitments, and
only ninth in the SEC. But if that group above comes aboard, which is very
possible … expect the Gators to shoot up the chart into the top five if not top
three.

While Alabama is nearly done with its class with 19 commitments and South
Carolina and Tennessee both have more than 20, Florida still has lots of room
to grow–and it appears that space is being reserved for five-star talent.
Nobody in the SEC has more potential to finish redhot than Florida.
Undoubtedly, these prospects are playing a bit of wait-and-see to see what kind
of improvement the Gators make, and if the coaching staff stays stable. This
fall is more critical than just what will be seen on the field–it obviously
will have a huge effect on this recruiting class.

“I like the fact that it’s close to home, and they do show me a bunch of love
when I go there,” Jefferson told Saturday Down South in a recent interview,
talking about Florida. “Coach (Brad) Lawing is a big part of it. I’ve seen
quotes from Clowney about how he has given Coach Lawing so much credit (for his
success when Lawing was at South Carolina). If he can do those things with
Clowney, I figure why not me? There are multiple reasons I love Gainesville,
but those are the most important to me.”

Stay tuned.
