Growl was moved because of cost. Blue Key was told they could not lose money, again, last year, there would be no bailout. And they lost lots of money. I don't think UF bailed them out again. So, they cannot afford to rent the stadium & hold it in the stadium, including set-up, fast breakdown & cleaning for the Homecoming Game.
Remember, most of the big names performed when they were not at their top asking price, Robin Williams was on his way up, Bob Hope was on his way down, Bill Cosby was on his way down, but went back up. And Bill Cosby did word for word the same show he did that August in Toronto. My family was so disappointed. Two years ago was AWFUL. Last year the best part, IMHO, was the violinist, Josh Vietti. Sister Hazel & The Fray were on the East Stands stage while the audience was in 1/8 of the West Stands. Blue Key did not negotiate cost with The Fray, they wanted The Fray & paid what was initially asked. I forget the actual $ amount, but it was a ridiculous amount. I heard rumors that someone promised their girlfriend they could get The Fray... I have only missed 1 Growl since 1963, but I am done. I have no interest in Ludacris & don't even know who the other names are. And trust me, the fence around Flavet Field is going to be breached. They never fenced Flavet for Halloween Balls.
