I predict the team will pick up Roper’s offense in the next two weeks. The
lights will come on for everyone, including Jeff Driskell.

We’ll beat Georgia because Gurley still won’t be re-instated. We will lose to
the semis. Muschamp will take us to the Gator Bowl where we’ll beat a Big 10
patsy.

And, Muschamp will have learned what it takes to be a decent head coach. He’ll
learn it just like the semi boy Jimbo Fisher has.

We’ll be the two titans of college football. Mississippi will fade away as the
center of the college football universe.

Nick Satan will continue to fade in glory. Auburn will face another NCAA
cheating scandal.

We will be complaining about how difficult it is to get seats in Atlanta.

Long live Will Muschamp! Go Gators!!! Woohoo!!!

I have to admit, Jeff Barlis really does have a point. And I remember what
Oliver was saying, the crankiness from some when SOS didn't deliver an NC every
year. Boy, we'd take those Spurrier "down years" in a heartbeat now, wouldn't
we? :-)

I was very much a Muschamp supporter but it's appearing to me more and more
that perhaps he really just isn't the right guy. I hoped that the friendship
and obvious mutual respect between he and Spurrier was a sign that even SOS
thought he was good for the program.

I don't think Muschamp has "dismantled" the program. I see plenty of signs
that we have talent on the field. But maybe Coach Boom's never going to be
better than a DC.

What really irritates me is all the people calling for Foley's firing. Are
they crazy? He is easily the best AD in the country and what he has done with
all the sports has given UF fans the ability to brag as the #EverythingSchool.
I love the fact that all the other sports are contenders (and winners) of
championships every year. Foley does seem to have a problem getting the right
football coach, but I would argue the two toughest athletic jobs in the country
to hire for are HC of football and men's basketball. He certainly found us a
shining star in hoops.

I'm not particularly fond of Neil or his site. I don't think he's a
particularly good writer and really brings nothing new to the table (unlike
Adam Silverstein of Only Gators and Andy Hutchins of Alligator Army). Is your
"disagreement" in the comments?

Neil, the guy who runs "inallkindsofweather.com" tried to say that Muschamp has
"crippled" UF Football.. and I took exception to that and he apparently didnt
like me disagreeing with him. Is the program where it should be? No.. but its
not "crippled" either.

Dan Mullen: hire/fire websites not ‘good for anybody’

 Texas A&M v Mississippi State
<http://nbccollegefootballtalk.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/cd0ymzcznguwzdbhnduynddiytjhm2yyzthlmtjjotqwyyznpwm3m2mwndy3nzezmwrhmzg4mtzjotzlyzbmowm3nwq0.jpeg?w=250>

Thanks to Dan Mullen‘s success at Mississippi State in 2014 as well as his ties
to Florida, and given the Gators struggles the past two seasons under Will
Muschamp, a pair of website — <http://www.hiredanmullen.com/>
HireDanMullen.com and <http://www.wewantdan.com/> WeWantDan.com — were
recently launched urging the Gators to poach the former UF offensive
coordinator from their SEC rivals.

The man who the websites are centered on, however, isn’t impressed. At all.

In fact, during a radio interview Wednesday, Mullen ripped the concept
<http://abc11.com/sports/dan-mullen-fans-taking-it-too-far/353187/> of both
“Hire(CoachX).com” and “Fire(CoachX).com” websites, calling them an “insult” to
everyone involved.

“It’s really an insult to coaches and to players at institutions. Whether
they’re putting websites out to hire you or fire you or do all these different
things, I don’t think that does any good for anybody. …

“At the end of every season, there are coaching changes, but people put so much
in. You’re so committed, yourself, your family, your team, everybody’s so
committed, that I think it’s insulting to the job everybody does.

“I know there are fans that like that stuff. I don’t think that stuff is great.
People can have their opinions and call in on shows, but to take it that far, I
don’t think it’s good for anybody on either side of the fence.”

That said, Mullen will likely be at or near the top of the list for UF athletic
director Jeremy Foley if/when Muschamp is dismissed. As should be expected,
Mullen proclaimed his love for his current program.

“One, both my kids are born here. I love Mississippi State. I’ve loved being
here. I love the community. I love the state,” Mullen said during the
interview. “I have a great administration. They’ve given us what we need to
build a successful program. I think we’ve built that program. We love being
here. That’s No. 1.”

It should be noted that, just last season, Mullen was in a somewhat similar
position to Muschamp. While the Bulldogs were 36-28 overall and had qualified
for bowl games four straight seasons, they were still just 16-24 in SEC play in
Mullen’s first five seasons in Starkville.

That subpar conference mark had some calling for Mullen’s head last year, a
fact that the coach openly acknowledged.

“I know there was a website here at Mississippi State to fire Dan Mullen last
year,” the sixth-year coach said. “Now, there’s probably one to keep me here.”

Entering Week 8, the MSU Bulldogs are ranked No. 1 in the country for the first
time in the history of the Associated Press poll.
