The main problem with Treon is this: he is short. I expect that affects his passing lanes greatly, which could explain why the mid-range game in the middle (notice there never seemed to be any slant routes?) was non-existent. So, essentially the passing game was the horrid horizontal game or the low-percentage long throws. They needed to roll him out of the pocket more as he was certainly very good at throwing while on the move in high school. Also, while not exactly swift of foot he has a good instinct when running the ball; I would think that if Treon emerges as the starting QB, McElwain will set up packages that fit's Treon's skills better than what we've seen this past year. I'm certain he can do much more than just run a read option every stinking down.
