O’Sullivan has been at Florida 9 years? I would have guessed 3.

I hope he does retire at Florida… after 40 years.

And… Let’s win it all THIS year!

Come on Gators!!!

Kevin O’Sullivan is leading the Gators to the College World Series for the
fifth time in nine seasons as Florida’s coach.

On Wednesday, O’Sullivan didn’t sound like he’s eager to go elsewhere anytime
soon. O’Sullivan, 47, made his strongest indication yet that he plans to stay
at UF beyond this season.

“I'm just excited being here and I plan on being here,” O’Sullivan said. “My
goal all along was to start my career here and end it here. And that's what I
intend to do."

On Tuesday, Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said he’s working on a new
contract for O’Sullivan, who is due to make $665,000 in salary and bonuses this
season. Texas reportedly has strong interest in O’Sullivan to replace Augie
Garrido, who stepped down as Longhorns coach May 30.

Foley also indicated he will explore plans for facility improvements in and
around McKethan Stadium, including an overhang over the stands that would
provide shade for fans.

"It's all preliminary right now,” O’Sullivan said. “(We’ve) talked about a
bunch of things. We talked about re-doing the locker room, team room, a pro
locker room. Talked about a roof, suites up top, a bunch of things. Obviously
everything is preliminary right now. I know Jeremy is committed to doing what
we need to do to be successful and that's all we can ask for."

The Gators clinched their second straight trip to the College World Series and
10th in school history with a 7-0 win over Florida State on Monday night.
Florida will travel to Omaha, Neb., today in preparation for its College World
Series opener Sunday at 8 p.m. (ESPN2) against Coastal Carolina at TD
Ameritrade Park.

Florida senior righty Logan Shore (12-0), who has won 17 straight decisions, is
expected to start in Sunday’s opener. Shore pitched eight scoreless innings in
UF’s 5-0 win over FSU last Sunday night.

“It’s a different feeling going back the second time rather than the first,”
Shore said. “Last time it was kind of like Omaha was mysterious. I’m excited
that most of our team’s been there and we will know what to expect and be ready
from pitch No. 1.”

As for an injury update, O’Sullivan said freshman righty Brady Singer has been
dealing with a back issue that’s being treated and should be 100 percent by the
time the Gators arrive in Omaha. Freshman hard-throwing righty Jackson Kowar,
who has been out since early May with a collapsed lung, also has resumed
throwing and will likely make the trip to Omaha with his teammates.O’Sullivan
said Kowar threw a bullpen session Sunday and looked great.

“As long as he goes out there and the ball goes to the catcher, he'll be on the
27-man (roster),” O’Sullivan said. “(I’m) excited about him getting back with
us."

O'Sullivan said right-hander Alex Faedo will pitch the Gators' second game
Tuesday.
