I know we were up big, but that is a big let down from out scoring them by 30 in one half to losing by 6 in the second. A final question, did they get rid of the final four floor or was it just refinished? I would have thought if they replaced it they would have parted out the old floor for souvenirs. As far as the arena, on the basketball side the biggest change is the mezzanine level where the big money boosters get to eat and drink. New entry lobby, which is nice, but was hoping to see at least replicas of the national title trophies somewhere. Overall I think most of the changes must've been internal because outside of new signage and paint, still looked like the O dome to me. My only complaint is they didn't put any food/drink concessions on the second level. Seems like they could have at least portable carts with a limited menu up there. They did run out of BBQ pork and at one point there was a 10-15 minute wait for hot dogs, but those type of issues I attribute more to it being the first game and everyone still getting in the groove. It was a lot of fun in the arena and the rowdies represented well for a game over break. O'Connell Center. Buoyed by crisp passing and a season-high 16 3-pointers, the Gators made a strong opening statement in the renovated building, beating Arkansas-Little Rock 94-71 before an announced crowd of 10,655 on Wednesday night. Florida (9-3) shot 59.6 percent from the floor and 51.6 percent (16-31) from 3-point range. Five different Florida scorers reached double figures, led by junior forward Devin Robinson's career-high 21 points. Senior point guard Kasey Hill posted UF's first double-double of the season with 11 points and a career-high 11 assists. As a team, Florida finished with a season-high 20 assists and posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 20 to 13. Sophomore guard KeVaughn Allen added 19 points, scoring 13 straight points during an early first-half stretch. Sophomore center Kevarrius Hayes, starting in place of injured John Egbunu, chipped in with 12 points and senior forward Canyon Barry had 15 points off the bench. “Probably as confident a 40 minutes offensively as we've played,” Florida coach Mike White said.
