Dave Thomas' daughter attended UF in the early 80s. Steinbrenner was a Bull Gator up until his death (I once sat in one of his skybox seats - not during a game - in '85. The seats at that time all had little golden name plates). He had a home in Tampa (likely due to his owning Tampa Shipyards).
